Room Brief Builder
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Room Brief Builder stores project names, addresses, room names, dimensions, notes, work descriptions, priorities, statuses, material quantities, prices, and photographs that you enter. These records and image files are stored locally on your device. If a network connection is available, the app sends project snapshots and compressed JPEG photographs to its backend for synchronization. The backend creates a random installation token; the app stores it in the device Keychain and the server stores only its hash. Requests necessarily expose network information such as IP address and request metadata to Railway, the hosting provider. The app has no account, login, analytics, advertising SDK, or email delivery system.
How we use information
The app uses your entries to calculate room areas, material quantities, budget totals and repair progress, to mark work on photographs, and to generate a PDF that you choose to share through iOS. The backend uses installation-authorized records and photographs to synchronize and preserve the same installation's data when its token remains available. Request metadata is processed to serve and secure the service and diagnose errors.
Service providers and sharing
Project data and photographs are sent to the Room Brief Builder backend hosted on Railway and are available to that hosting infrastructure. The service does not send them to analytics, advertising, map, payment, or email providers. A PDF or photograph is shared with recipients only when you use the iOS Share Sheet or another device feature; the recipient and any selected sharing service then handle what you send. Railway may process infrastructure request logs and network metadata as the hosting provider.
Data retention
Projects and photographs remain in local storage until you delete them or remove the app. Server records and photographs remain until you delete the project or all installation data. Deletion removes them from the active application database; the app does not create its own server backups. Railway may retain infrastructure logs or provider-managed copies under its own practices, and the app cannot specify or erase a provider retention period. Generated PDFs remain in temporary device storage until iOS removes them or you remove the app; copies you share are controlled by their recipients.
Deleting your information
You can delete an individual project or all local data in Settings. The app queues the corresponding server deletion if offline and sends it when connectivity returns; keep the app installed and connected for that request to complete. Deleting all data asks the backend to remove the installation, its projects, photographs, and operation records. Removing the app alone removes its local app storage but may leave its Keychain token and server copy; reinstalling without the token cannot recover or delete that copy through the app. For assistance with inaccessible server data, contact FenellaSablehurst12@icloud.com. Previously shared PDFs are not deleted by the app.
Permissions and your choices
Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a room or result photograph. The iOS photo picker lets you choose existing photographs for a project; the app receives only selected items. You can decline camera access or change it in iOS Settings and continue using text, measurements, budgets and PDF export. The app does not request location or contact permissions.
Your privacy rights
You can view and edit your project data in the app, export it as a PDF, and delete a project or all installation data. To ask about privacy or data handling, write to FenellaSablehurst12@icloud.com. Because there are no user accounts and installation tokens are not recoverable by identity, a request concerning an inaccessible installation may be limited by what can be verified without exposing another person's data.
Security
The iOS client sends backend requests over HTTPS. A random installation token is held in the device Keychain; the backend stores its hash and checks it before private project and photo access. Server access is scoped to that installation, request sizes and image types are checked, and the backend uses a persistent Railway volume. No network or storage system can be guaranteed risk-free.
Children’s privacy
Room Brief Builder is a renovation planning tool for adults and is not directed to children. The service does not knowingly seek children's personal information. If you believe a child has supplied personal data, contact FenellaSablehurst12@icloud.com to discuss removal.
Changes to this policy
This page may be updated when the app's data practices change. A new effective date will appear here, and the current version will remain publicly available at the same privacy URL. Contact FenellaSablehurst12@icloud.com with questions about a change.
